Handling discounts

Zonos receives discounts applied at Shopify checkout and uses the discounted item amounts when calculating landed cost. Discounts are displayed as an order-level discount in Zonos, ensuring that duty and tax calculations accurately reflect what the customer actually paid.

No additional setup is required — discount handling works automatically for all Shopify plans. The Shopify app block is not needed for this feature.

How it works 

When a customer applies a discount code or automatic discount at checkout, Zonos will:

1. Receive the discount from Shopify as part of the rate request.
2. Calculate landed cost based on the discounted item amounts.
3. Display the discount as an order-level discount in Zonos Dashboard.

This ensures that duty and tax are always calculated on the amount the customer actually pays, providing accurate landed cost quotes.

Enabling discount handling 

1. Go to the Zonos app in your Shopify admin.
2. Under the Checkout settings section, toggle the Use discounted amounts in rate requests checkbox.
3. Click Save.
