Let Zonos handle the complexity of cross-border commerce so you can focus on scaling your business.
The story of how Zonos became the AI operating system for cross-border trade
In 2009, Clint Reid was working as an International Account Executive at UPS. Day after day, he visited retailers who wanted to sell internationally — but wouldn't. The technology to calculate customs duties, taxes, and tariffs simply didn't exist.
One customer visit became the catalyst. The retailer flat-out refused to sell to international buyers. Not because they didn't want to, but because they had no way to handle the complexity. Clint realized the primary barrier to global commerce wasn't logistics — it was technology.
He left UPS that August and started what was then called iGlobal Exports from his unfinished basement in Salt Lake City. No venture capital. No fancy office. The walls weren't even drywalled. He sold his first retail client from that makeshift space.
From the basement to the world
What followed was 12 years of bootstrapped persistence. No outside capital. No shortcuts. Just relentless focus on solving the hardest problems in cross-border trade.
The company relocated to St. George, Utah in 2014. Rebranded from iGlobal Stores to Zonos in 2018 — a name that would let them define the new category they were creating.
In September 2021, Zonos raised a $69 million Series A led by Silversmith Capital Partners — the largest Series A in Southern Utah history — their first outside equity after 12 years of building. Today, Zonos is the only platform selected by U.S. Customs and Border Protection to power AI-driven trade compliance and tariff collection for the entire country.
